X Factor UK Final 2010: And the winner is?
67
X Factor has been on air in the UK for the last few months. In a similar way to American Idol it began with auditions around the UK. From here the hopefuls were whittled down and sent to bootcamp. More auditions followed before another selection. This one sent small groups of acts to each of the four mentors "homes". The acts were pruned further and the live shows began on UK ITV each Saturday night. This year there was a results show each Sunday and as always there was the Xtra Factor which was aired on one on ITVs digital channels.
All of this of course has been a great money spinner for the show's producers and music guru Simon Cowell. Cowell has seemed to have the Midas touch in recent years but every dog must have its day. Perhaps Simon's is just around the corner. For now though he is set to take X Factor to the US next year and it is assumed that the show will be a huge success. The reign of King Simon may have more longevity than some had thought or hoped.
So X Factor UK will draw to a close this weekend, that is 11th and 12th December 2010, and the winner will no doubt have a bright future. Sometimes, in these type of shows, those that just fall near the winning post end up triumphant. This has been true of the likes of Adam Lambert in the US and JLS in the UK. Remember though that Leona Lewis was an X Factor winner.
The four finalists of X Factor UK 2010 are Matt Cardle, Rebecca Fergusson, One Direction and Cher Lloyd. Attached to this hub are videos of one of each of these acts performances from last week's show.
The two hour show on Saturday 11th December will pull out all the stops but two acts are to be sent home. If you care about any of the remaining four acts, or are even remotely bothered who may win, you better get voting when the lines open.
Who wilol be sent home on Saturday? Who will win X Factor UK 2010 overall? Well pop back tomorrow and find out. See ya then.
